Ed Harcourt,创作人，目前为止已经发行了五张专辑。此张专辑于2003年发行，其实我下载了也有一段时间了，放在那里想不起来听。而当 《Bittersweetheart》的钢琴声和他的声音丝丝缕缕地反复在耳边回响时，我后悔现在才对他的关注。提到专辑中最特别的一首歌，我想非 《The Birds Will Sing For Us》莫属。

虽然不是第一次在歌词的末尾中提及到死亡二字，但是无论是slowly dying还是在黎明前死去，这首歌基调是甜甜圈般的民谣风，温柔的哼唱配上沙沙的低音，Ed Harcourt的死亡变得轻盈，飘浮在空中，而人生的众多繁杂事务何尝不是空中的气球，鲜亮的面目可是摇摇晃晃，当冲到云霄，气球应声破碎，生命也划上 句号。深沉的男人常给人沧桑的错觉，我却觉得深沉的男人是可爱的，他们明白什么样的节奏最适合说出心底的话，明白这个世界上无处不在的困境，我欣赏这种清 醒。
专辑的每首歌都很耐听，丰富的编曲，简单的歌词，处处透出心思，这样的声音，不该被埋没。
